AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST
May 17, 2019

On May 16, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Anacapa Drive for a report of a subject with a weapon and a stabbing that had occurred.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered that 39-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Nancy G. Canchola was in a verbal altercation with her 29-year-old roommate which then turned physical.  A 51-year-old male relative of the female victim arrived at the apartment complex during the physical altercation and attempted to intervene as Canchola held the female victim at knife point against her will. Canchola then fought with the relative and suffered non-life threatening injuries as the relative attempted to get the knife away from her.

As a result of the investigation, Nancy G. Canchola was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault per Domestic Violence, Kidnapping per Domestic Violence and Criminal Damage per Domestic Violence.   Canchola was booked into the Lake Havasu City jail pending her initial appearance.

A stabbing did not occur.  However, Canchola did suffer minor injuries and was cut by the knife during the struggle with the relative to get the knife away from her.
