The Lake Havasu City Maintenance Services Division has announced that the annual Slurry Seal Program is scheduled to begin today, May 15, 2017. This project is part of the annual pavement preservation program and consists of placing approximately 51,193 square yards of Type II Polymer-Modified Slurry Seal on various cul-de-sacs throughout the city. The project streets are approximately four miles in total length.
Residents and businesses located along streets being resurfaced received a detailed notice in advance of the construction. The city asks that residents refrain from parking on the streets and to remove all vehicles from the streets during the time that they are scheduled to be sealed, and to also avoid from letting running water into the street during this time.
The City appreciates the resident’s patience and cooperation during the street sealing process. Motorists traveling on a street being slurry sealed can expect delays due to street sealing activities and possible flagging to direct traffic flow. Speed limit reductions will be in force through the work areas. Traffic cones, arrows, and other devices will delineate travel lanes; however, motorists can expect some lane and access restrictions and it is recommended that motorists use alternate routes whenever possible.
As always, the public is requested to use caution and obey all traffic signs when traveling through construction zones. To view a map of the roadways scheduled for the proposed work, go to the Lake Havasu City website front page at www.lhcaz.gov or use Quick Links to Operations/Streets
