Arrest Made in Cold Case Homicide
March 15, 2018

The Lake Havasu City Police Department established a cold case squad approximately two years ago with the purpose of investigating the Department’s unsolved homicides. The Criminal Investigations Unit detectives along with the cold case squad members began to re-investigate a homicide that occurred in 2004.  They have been actively investigating the homicide for approximately the last 18 months.

The death of Cindy R. Trumbull occurred in 2004, and has remained unsolved since that time.  Trumbull was 30 years old when her life was tragically cut short after she was shot and killed at her residence in the 200 block of Geronimo Boulevard in August of that year.

Follow-ups were conducted over the past 18 months that involved detectives traveling across the country and re-interviewing several witnesses. New information was obtained and the case was presented to a grand jury last week that resulted in the indictment of 38-year-old William Timothy Nunno for first-degree homicide and other felonies related to the incident.  As a result, a felony warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s F.B.I. Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Nunno at his residence in Las Vegas on March 9, at approximately 8:00 a.m.

Nunno was charged with first degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault related to the death of Cindy Trumbull.  Nunno was additionally charged with attempted first degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault as the result of a separate investigation of an incident that occurred on August 16, 2004.

Nunno is being held on a $250,000 bond at the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition back to Mohave County.
