Candidate Packets Now Available for 2016 City Elections

Lake Havasu City Clerk, Kelly Williams, announced that packets containing information, forms, documents and petitions necessary for a potential candidate to run for City Council in the Fall Election are available as of today, Friday, February 19.  Three (3) Councilmember positions will be on the ballot in the Fall Primary Election on August 30, 2016.  Those seats are currently held by Councilmembers Dean Barlow, Donna Brister-McCoy, and Don Callahan.

Prospective candidates may pick up their packet directly from the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall anytime during regular office hours.  Candidates must be a qualified elector of Lake Havasu City (eligible to be a registered voter), and have resided within the corporate limits of the City at least one year prior to the election.  All properly-executed documents, including nomination petitions containing no fewer than 471 and no more than 942 signatures must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no earlier than May 2, 2016, and no later than June 1, 2016.
