September 25, 2018

Lake Havasu City invites the public to attend Mark S. Nexsen’s retirement celebration on Sunday, October 7, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the SARA Park Rodeo Grounds, located at 1740 McCulloch Blvd South. Cake and refreshments are served. Please stop by to wish Mayor Nexsen well and thank him for his 12 years of service to Lake Havasu City.

Mayor Nexsen officially retires from Lake Havasu City on November 27 after choosing not to run in this year’s Mayoral election.  He and his wife Eileen moved to Lake Havasu City in 1998.  Since that time, Mayor Nexsen served the community tirelessly and contributed to the betterment of our great city through his volunteer contributions and the successes he achieved.  To name a few of his accomplishments, he championed the construction of the Tinnell Memorial Sports Park, formed the Havasu Youth Advisory Council, envisioned and created the Veteran’s Court, lead the efforts of the America’s Best Communities Competition, served as Vice-Chair of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Executive Committee, served as Chairman of the Clean Colorado River Sustainability Coalition, named Honorary Marine Corp League Member, and proudly supported veterans in the most patriotic city in the United States.

No RSVP is required for the informal drop-in event. The event is free to the public.  For more information, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 928-453-4152.
