Lake Havasu City, City Manager, Jess Knudson recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Knudson earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University. He is qualified by 16 years of professional local government executive experience. Prior to his appointment as City Manager for Lake Havasu City in December of 2017, he served as the Assistant Town Manager and Public Information Officer for the Town of Florence, Arizona.

During his time with Lake Havasu City, Knudson oversaw the successful passing of a Permanent Base Adjustment to the Base Expenditure Limitation; provided a fully funded Capital Improvement Plan; made City operations more accessible to the public, including the renaming of City departments to meet resident expectations; managed equipment and personnel needs in a fiscally responsible manner and, held two successful City Council planning sessions.

“Only a handful of city managers earn this designation and we are proud to have one of them in Lake Havasu City,” said Mayor Cal Sheehy. “Jess has become a part of our community and continues to bring a level of expertise and commitment that is exceptional.”
