At approximately 6:30 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023, a fire was reported by a passerby in the 1800 block of Countryshire Avenue. The passerby reported smoke coming from the roof of the structure and notified 911 dispatch. The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the roof and rear of the structure.

Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 30 minutes. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. Crews remained on scene for an additional 2.5 hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
