Driver Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident

The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit completed their investigation of the fatal traffic accident that occurred on May 14, at approximately 8:15 p.m. involving a passenger car and two motorcycles at the intersection of Kiowa Boulevard North and Date Palm Drive.

As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old Ashley Cervino, the driver of the Subaru Cross Trek, was charged with causing serious physical injury or death by a moving violation and failure to yield the right-of-way. There was no indication that speed or impairment were factors in the collision.

The female rider of motorcycle one who was fatally injured in the collision was identified as 60-year old Teresa Walters. The male rider of motorcycle two was identified as 61-year old Louis Walters.  Mr. Walters remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The couple was married and part-time residents of Lake Havasu City.
