Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been investigating a couple who were residing in Lake Havasu City selling quantities
of methamphetamine throughout Mohave County, Arizona.
On October 6, 2022, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, with the assistance of the Street Crimes Unit and officers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, arrested Lake Havasu City residents
Jennifer Springfield (45) and Billy Ray Johnson (55) during a traffic stop that occurred on Alamo Road in Yucca, Arizona. During the traffic stop, Lake Havasu City Police Department’s K9 Rocky was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal
drugs. Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and located 210 grams of methamphetamine, over 100 fentanyl pills, and items of drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, the following subjects were arrested:
Jennifer Springfield was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Billy Ray Johnson was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, two felony warrants, and one misdemeanor warrant.
During their initial appearances, Springfield was held on a $10,000, and Johnson was held on no bond due to the felony warrants. Both were transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
