Over the past several months, detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been investigating a person selling methamphetamine
and fentanyl pills throughout the Lake Havasu City Area.
On August 30, 2022, at approximately 8:29 p.m., detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Street Crimes Unit, arrested 57-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Kimberly Bem and 33-year-old
Lake Havasu City resident Daniel Martinez in the area of Countryshire Avenue. and London Bridge Road 1900 block of N. McCulloch Blvd. after they were contacted during a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, K-9 Rocky was deployed on the vehicle and
alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the car revealed 15 individual bags of methamphetamine weighing a total of 60 grams, 6 grams of fentanyl pills, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
The Special Investigations Unit later served a search warrant in connection with the investigation in the 4000 block of London Bridge Road and found more evidence of drug sales.
As a result of the investigation, Kimberly Bem was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Daniel Martinez was charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia.
During their initial appearances, Bem and Martinez were held on $10,000 cash-only bonds. They were both transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
