Mrs. Hagest’s class from Starline Elementary School, surprised Fire Station 1 today, Thursday, January 12, 2017, with their Dude. Be Nice. program. This program allows students to change the routines in their lives and focus on devoting time to spread “niceness” in their schools and community. Throughout the week, students facilitate conversations about what ‘being nice’ truly means, they participate in activities that promote niceness, and ultimately provide the opportunity for students to take the lead in executing ‘nice’ activities in their schools and community.
Thursday: A Day to Reach Out to the Community
Starline students, grades K-6 wrote friendly letters to our local police officers, firefighters, and Mayor thanking them for all they do to serve their community. The students were challenged to go out and do something nice for the people who serve Lake Havasu City.
