A 2001 green Land Rover SUV driven by a 28-year-old Alaska resident was southbound on SR-95 when he drove left of center and collided head-on with a white Infinity SUV, occupied by a family of five.
The female driver of the Infinity, 38-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Maria Ramirez-Rangle and her 10-year-old daughter, who was in the rear seat, suffered fatal injuries, in the collision. An adult male front seat passenger and two other children, ages 14 and 5 were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Due to the extent of the children’s injuries, both were transported to a Children’s Hospital outside of Lake Havasu City.
The driver and only occupant of the Range Rover, was called-in as an erratic driver to the Department of Public Safety minutes prior to the fatal accident. He was also involved in a minor accident where he sideswiped another car traveling southbound near Jacob Row just before being involved in the fatal accident.
