Lake Havasu City continues to invest in the future of its roadways by improving utilities and resurfacing roads in the downtown area. The next project starts at Lake Havasu Avenue and Mesquite Avenue and ends at Riveria Drive and Mesquite Avenue for milling and paving operations, beginning Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2.
Additionally, on Thursday, May 1, there is a nighttime closure and detour from Querio Drive to Acoma Boulevard on Mesquite Avenue for a water tie-in from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Lake Havasu City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation with the preservation process. Paving Mesquite helps to reduce future maintenance costs and enhance overall road durability.
Temporary delays, restrictions, and road and lane closures are in place in affected ar
eas to complete the necessary improvements. Traffic control signs, cones, arrows, flaggers, and other devices are used to direct traffic. It is strongly recommended that motorists use alternative routes whenever possible. Do not walk or drive through the material until traffic control has been removed.
Residents and businesses located along streets being milled and repaved receive notice approximately 24-72 hours before the work starts. The city asks that the public refrain from parking on the streets, remove all vehicles when they are scheduled to be paved, and avoid releasing water into the street during this time.
As always, please follow all traffic signs when traveling through construction zones.
