At approximately 11:56 am, April 26, 2016, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 600 block of Papoose Drive. The occupants discovered smoke in the garage and evacuated the residence safely. The first arriving fire company reported heavy black smoke and fire coming from the garage door. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 17 minutes. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. C.E.R.T. responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional two hours conducting an investigation and salvage operations. Damages were confined to the garage area with the loss of one vehicle. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
