On April 29, 2020, Governor Doug Ducey issued Executive Order 2020-33, extending the Arizona’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected Order through May 15, 2020, and further announced an extension of physical distancing measures and a systematic approach to a gradual economic reopening. Retail businesses are allowed to sell goods through delivery, window, walk-up, drive-thru, drive-up or curbside delivery, provided they establish and implement sanitation and physical distancing measures. In addition, Governor Ducey announced Arizona is aiming to allow restaurants to offer dine-in services to customers in May. Additional guidance, developed in coordination with public health officials, is expected in the days ahead.
According to the Executive Order and pursuant to A.R.S. § 26-307, no county, city or town may make or issue any order, rule or regulation that conflicts with this policy, directive or intent of this Executive Order, including any order, rule or regulation that limits an individual from conducting, participating in or receiving Essential Services, Essential Activities or Non-Essential Services as outlined in this order and prior executive orders.
Aligned with the direction provided by the Governor’s Office, starting Monday, May 4, dog parks, and park restrooms that are routinely sanitized are opened to the public.
“Governor Ducey’s guidance is slowly lessening restrictions throughout Arizona, including Lake Havasu City, but we need to continue to follow the CDC guidelines, including staying at home if you feel sick, maintaining social distancing, and avoiding large groups,” said City Manager Jess Knudson.
