The Lake Havasu City Police Department Street Crimes Unit has been investigating several incidents involving graffiti throughout Lake Havasu City. During the investigation, a lead developed and ultimately identified a subject involved in three separate incidents occurring in the city's downtown area. Several items were defaced in each of the incidents, including trash cans, electrical boxes, buildings, concrete wash drains, and concrete pillars. In two cases, the suspect utilized a ladder to gain access due to the location of the graffiti.
On September 13, 2024, at approximately 7:52 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Mulberry Avenue and McCulloch Boulevard North. During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as 26-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Adam Clark, the suspect in the graffiti investigation. Probable cause was developed, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several items of evidence linking him to the graffiti cases, including paint cans, paint markers, and graffiti art similar to the three cases.
As a result of the investigation, Clark was arrested and charged with 16 counts of making graffiti (LHC City Code) and two counts of trespassing. After his initial appearance, Clark was held on a $45,000 cash bond and transferred into the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
