With the expected high volume of traffic around the Island for the upcoming Balloon Festival event, there will be a traffic control change in effect on the Island from 5:00 am Friday, January 15 through 11:00 pm on Sunday, January 17.
All Island and event traffic will be directed into two lanes of travel counterclockwise around the Island. Lanes will be designated for event paid parking at the Nautical Inn, thru traffic, and the free parking area. Traffic will be restricted to one direction around the Island for the duration of the event. There will be officers and signs in place to assist with the flow of traffic during each day of the Balloon Festival event.
Left turns will be prohibited from westbound McCulloch Boulevard into the London Bridge Resort and London Bridge Beach parking lots for the duration of the event. To access London Bridge Beach, Lions Dog Park, Javelina Cantina, or Heat Hotel, follow the signs and use the left turn lane at Sir Peter Gadsen Drive (Beachcomber/McCulloch intersection).
The Lake Havasu City Police Department urges drivers to be patient, follow the traffic control devices, watch for pedestrians, and drive with caution.
