Juvenile Arrested for Threats Involving High School

On March 1, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department began receiving information about a juvenile making threatening statements and referring to the Lake Havasu High School. 

The Lake Havasu City Police Department Street Crimes Unit immediately began investigating the threats. Several social media messages were posted by the individual and the threats were determined to have come from the individual.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old male high school student was arrested today, March 2, at approximately 2:00 a.m. and charged with threats, terrorism and interfering with an educational institution.  The juvenile was booked into juvenile detention.  

School administrators were notified of the situation.  The Lake Havasu City Police Department will have additional officers monitoring the schools.
