LAKE HAVASU CITY ANNOUNCES NAME FOR DOWNTOWN CATALYST
March 20, 2025

Lake Havasu City proudly announces that the highly anticipated downtown gathering space is officially named Main Street Commons. Located at the corner of McCulloch Boulevard and Querio Drive, this new public space is set to become a vibrant hub for events, entertainment, and community connection.

Main Street Commons was selected through a public naming contest launched last fall, which allowed residents to leave a lasting mark on the city’s downtown development. Over the past five months, nearly 500 creative name submissions were received. After careful review, city staff narrowed the list to a selection of finalists, with Main Street Commons emerging as the clear winner.

“This name truly reflects the heart of our downtown and the vision for the space,” said Gabby Vera, Parks and Recreation Director. “We wanted a name that embodies community, gathering, and the spirit of Lake Havasu City, and Main Street Commons does just that.”

The site design features a concrete plaza, shade structures, large grassy areas, and restrooms and provides an inviting venue for public gatherings and events. The Partnership for Economic Development and Go Lake Havasu are also collaborating on a concession stand and storage that serves event organizers and other city-related activities.

Main Street Commons is 94% funded with prize winnings from the America’s Best Communities Competition and grant funding from Arizona State Parks and Trails. The space is set to open this spring, offering a dynamic space where the community can come together to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories in the heart of downtown.
