The Lake Havasu City Fire Department recently participated in an Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation of the structural fire suppression delivery system and proudly maintains the ISO rating of Class 2 for the community, effective November 1, 2024.
The ISO ratings range from 1 to 10, with Class 1 representing superior public protection and Class 10 indicating no recognized protection.
ISO’s Public Protection Classification Program (PPC) plays an important role in the underwriting process at insurance companies. Most insurance companies use PPC information as part of the decision-making process when deciding what business to write, coverages to offer, or insurance prices. PPC serves fire departments as a valuable benchmark and tool for planning, budgeting, and justifying fire protection improvements.
Jess Knudson, City Manager, says he is proud of the fire department, “We are very proud of the hard work of our Lake Havasu City Fire Department and Fire Chief Pete Pilafas for this exceptional rating. Our firefighters, EMS, and prevention team work tirelessly to keep our residents, businesses, and visitors safe.”
