Lake Havasu City Police Department Accepting Applications

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is currently accepting applications for police officer trainee and police officer lateral through October 14, 2016. Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the Police Department website at www.lhcpd.com and click on the “Join our Team” link for more information.

Interested candidates are required to submit an online application by visiting the City’s Career Opportunity page at www.lhcaz.gov. Detailed instructions on application requirements are outlined in the job bulletin. Qualified applicants will be required to participate in testing November 3 – 4, 2016, which will consist of the following components:

  • Thursday, November 3, 2016 - Physical agility testing: Candidates will be required to complete a 1.5 mile run in 15:20 minutes or less. Those who are successful will complete a 500 yard run, obstacle course, chain link fence, solid fence, body drag after a 20-minute rest period. Candidates are required to successfully finish each component in order to move forward. Candidates who successfully complete the 1.5 mile run and physical agility will be invited to participate in the Writing Assignment.
  • Thursday, November 3, 2016 – Frontline National written exam: Lake Havasu City Police Department has partnered with National Testing Network (NTN) to administer the Frontline National written exam. This component will be approximately 3 hours. You must schedule your written exam with National Testing Network directly by visiting their website at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com. Candidates may schedule testing at any of the testing facilities; however, testing must be completed on or by November 3, 2016. Lake Havasu City must be a chosen department to view your test scores as outlined on the National Testing Network website. Testing with National Testing Network must have been completed within the last twelve (12) months. Candidates who have already successfully completed testing with National Testing Network within the last twelve months (12) months will not be required to re-test.
  • Thursday, November 3, 2016 - Writing Assignment: Topic to be announced at the test. This component will be approximately 45 minutes. 
  • Friday, November 4, 2016 - Oral Board Interview: Those who successfully complete the Oral Board Interview will be given a Background Questionnaire that will be used to complete the background investigation phase of the selection process, which can take several weeks. Upon completion, candidates who are selected to move forward will be contacted at a later date to schedule a polygraph examination.
