LAKE HAVASU CITY POLICE INVESTIGATE ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

On October 7, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 2300 block of Palisades Drive. Initial reports indicated that an individual had been shot by two people who then fled the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence that a person had sustained an injury, but no subjects were present at the scene.

During the investigation, it was determined that the injured individual had self-transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries to his left hand. Interviews with the victim and witnesses revealed that the incident occurred while the victim was showing friends a firearm, which accidentally discharged, striking the victim in the left hand.

There are no outstanding suspects in this case and no threat to the community. The investigation concluded that the incident was an accidental, self-inflicted injury.
