LAKE HAVASU CITY PRESERVES THE FUTURE OF ITS ROADS
March 21, 2025

Lake Havasu City continues to invest in the future of its roadways by applying high-density mineral bond (HA5) sealant to extend the life of various streets, including the downtown area, parts of the Grand Island Walking Path, and the Mesquite Parking Lot. This proactive maintenance effort helps preserve approximately 170,000 square yards of asphalt, prolonging its usable service life.

Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 26, and continues for approximately two weeks. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation with everyone involved during the sealing process. The HA5 sealant provides long-term protection, helping to reduce future maintenance costs and enhancing overall road durability, but has a longer curing and drying time than other sealants used previously in Lake Havasu City.

Temporary delays, restrictions, and road and lane closures are in place in affected areas to complete the necessary improvements. Traffic control signs, cones, arrows, flaggers, and other devices are used to direct traffic.  It is strongly recommended that motorists use alternative routes whenever possible.  Businesses are open with rear, side, or traffic-controlled entrances for access.  Do not walk or drive through the material until traffic control has been removed.

Residents and businesses located along streets being sealed receive notice approximately 24-72 hours before the work starts. The city asks that the public refrain from parking on the streets, remove all vehicles when they are scheduled to be sealed, and avoid releasing water into the street during this time.

As always, please follow all traffic signs when traveling through construction zones.
