The Lake Havasu City Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on March 27, 2022, in Fort Mohave, AZ.
On March 27, 2022, at approximately 11:15 am, Officers with the Bullhead City Police Department, as well as Deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to the 2200 block of East Sterling Road in Fort Mohave in regards to a male subject with a gun threatening suicide. Officers made contact with the subject, and the male fled on foot into the desert wash area after failing to comply with the officers.
Officers heard a single gunshot from the area where the male fled, and the male then walked out of the desert wash and approached the officers. Two Bullhead City Police Officers and two Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies fired multiple shots that struck the male subject.
The male was transported to a nearby hospital and succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.
