On May 3, 2024, at approximately 7:05 a.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to the 2700 Block of Daytona Ave. in reference to an infant not breathing. Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel tended to a 16-week-old infant who had regained consciousness. The infant was taken to the Havasu Regional Medical Center where his injuries were found to be severe and required a life flight to Las Vegas, Nv for further care.
Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit responded and assumed the investigation. Through the investigation and consulting with doctors, it was determined that the infant suffered from a non-accidental brain injury that resulted in significant and permanent brain trauma. The infant remains intubated and under the care of medical professionals in Las Vegas, NV.
On May 7, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the child’s father, 29-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Anthony Eldridge was arrested and charged with one count of child abuse and two counts of aggravated assault.
Anthony is currently being held in custody at the Mohave County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond.
