On February 8, 2021 at approximately 4:35 p.m. the Lake Havasu City Police Department took Jeremy Chelgren into custody for his alleged involvement in multiple arsons that occurred earlier in the day throughout Lake Havasu City.
On February 8, 2021 Lake Havasu City Police officers observed Chelgren driving a dark colored Chevrolet sedan, matching the description of a vehicle involved in the arsons, bearing a fictitious license plate and initiated a traffic stop on Cherry Tree Dr. at Cherry Tree Way. Chelgren failed to stop and led officers on a brief vehicle pursuit which ended when he came to a stop at the east end of Cherry Tree Dr. where Chelgren was arrested without further incident.
Chelgren was charged with four counts of arson of an unoccupied structure, three counts of arson to an occupied structure, unlawful flight, displaying a fictitious license plate, and theft, as well as domestic violence threats, assault, criminal damage, and disorderly conduct related to a domestic violence incident that occurred at a residence in the 3100 block of Simitan Dr. on February 7, 2021.
During his initial appearances, Chelgren was held on a $100,000 bond for the arson charges, a $5,000 bond for the unlawful flight and theft charges, and a $5,000 bond for the domestic violence charges. He was transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
