Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been investigating a subject selling methamphetamine throughout Lake Havasu City.
On October 26, 2024, at approximately 4:43 a.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of SR95 and Retail Center Boulevard on a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Raymond Martinez. During the traffic stop, LHCPD K-9 “Echo” was utilized to perform an open-air sniff around the vehicle. As a result, Echo was alerted to the odor of narcotic drugs inside the vehicle.
Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered approximately 37 grams of methamphetamine. The street value of the methamphetamine is estimated to be $1,110.
Raymond was arrested and charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During his initial appearance, Raymond was held on a $10,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
