At approximately 11:30 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016, a mobile home fire was reported in the 600 Block of Beachcomber Boulevard. The neighbors reported fire coming from the mobile home across the street. The first arriving Battalion Chief confirmed smoke and flames coming from the residence. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control within 30 minutes. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire. One firefighter sustained an ankle injury and was later taken to the hospital. CERT responded to the fire to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene an additional hour conducting salvage operations. The singlewide mobile home was a complete loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
