PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY VEHICLE BACKING UP
January 08, 2019

On Sunday, January 6, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to an accident involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 4100 block of Mercury Drive.

A female driver of a passenger car was backing out of her driveway and did not see a female pedestrian walking in the street. The pedestrian, a woman in her 50’s, suffered life threatening injuries as a result of being struck and knocked to the ground.  The woman was transported to a local hospital, but later flown to a Las Vegas hospital to be treated.

No citations have been issued at this time, however the accident remains under investigation.  Speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in the accident.

Public Information Officer:  Sergeant Tom Gray (928) 855-1171.
