Police Investigate Human Remains
December 28, 2015

On December 21, 2015, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Department officers were dispatched to possible human remains and a wallet found in the desert area north of Bentley Boulevard.  The items were discovered by a citizen who was off-roading in the area. Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation and did locate a wallet and human remains in the area. The contents of the wallet belonged to Richard Scartozzi, who was listed as a missing person in Lake Havasu City on November 1, 2015.

The remains were taken to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, in Lake Havasu City, where an autopsy will be performed to positively identify them.  There were no obvious signs of foul play at the scene.

Public Information Officer:  Sergeant Kirk Cesena (928) 855-1171
