Police Investigate Shooting
February 09, 2017

On February 9, 2017 at approximately 2:19 A.M. officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to the 2400 block of N. Rainbow Ave for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.  Officers made contact with a male and female at the location who were detained without incident.  Officers observed a rifle, a handgun, multiple shell casings and blood in and around the garage and driveway area of the home.  One male victim of a gunshot wound was located nearby and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit and a Crime Scene Technician were called out to investigate.  A search warrant was executed at the location and items of evidence were collected.

At approximately 3:32 A.M. two other male subjects arrived at Havasu Regional Medical Center, one suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.   During the investigation, it was learned that three employees of a repo company out of Las Vegas, Nevada attempted to repossess a motorcycle and a vehicle from a location in the 2400 block of N. Rainbow Ave.  The homeowner confronted the subjects and discharged his rifle at least a dozen times, striking two of the subjects.

The male and female initially contacted at the scene were later released and no charges have been filed while the case remains under investigation by the Lake Havasu City Police Department.

Officers responded to the same location on February 7, 2017 at approximately 10:50 P.M.  when the homeowner confronted the same subjects with a knife as they tried to repossess the same vehicles.  A police report was taken during that incident but no charges have been filed.
