Police Seek Assistance in Solving Recent Arson Incidents

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in solving several cases of arson in Lake Havasu City between January 4th and 15th, 2016. Unknown suspect(s) set various items on fire throughout the city. The following is a list of items that were set on fire along with the date and locations:

  • 1/04/16 -Dumpster across from the Aquatic Center
  • 1/10/16 -Construction equipment in the 3800 Block of Kiowa Boulevard North
  • 1/10/16 -Chair in the 1900 Block of Rainbow Avenue
  • 1/11/16 -Boat hull on Chenoweth Boulevard
  • 1/12/16 -Items inside Kmart
  • 1/13/16 -Moped parked at Lake Havasu High School
  • 1/15/16 -Multiple dumpster and restroom fires at Sara Park
  • 1/15/16 -Vehicle on Chenoweth Boulevard

On January 12, 2016, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department and officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a commercial fire inside of Kmart. The investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Further investigation revealed that an unknown white female with dark hair is a person of interest in the case. Detectives were able to locate two photos of the female from the surveillance footage and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her. It is unknown at this time if the same female was involved in the other arson cases within the city.

Anonymous tips can be left by calling 928-854-TIPS (8477). Citizens can also send an anonymous text message tip to “CRIMES” or 274637. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through a web page based tip service at www.tipsoft.com or via the “TipSubmit” mobile application for iPhone and Android based smart phones.
