On October 31, 2021, at approximately 5:07 p.m., Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Kiowa Boulevard North and Cashmere Drive. Upon arrival at the location, Officers discovered
that a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer being driven by Antonio Aguilar had collided into the rear of a 2017 Jeep Patriot, struck a mailbox, and then came to rest after colliding into a residence located in the 2800 block of Kiowa Boulevard North.
The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer, identified as Lake Havasu City resident Antonio Aguilar, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his minor injuries. Aguilar showed signs of impairment, and a DUI investigation was initiated. During the investigation,
it was determined that the male individual claiming to be Antonio Aguilar was an alias being used. At that time, the male was identified as Sergio Saldana-Ochoa.
This positive identification came through the use of the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Live Scan Fingerprinting System. Saldana-Ochoa’s fingerprints were captured, electronically transmitted to the Arizona Department of Public Safety,
and returned with a positive match for Sergio Saldana-Ochoa, a previously deported aggravated felon who had assumed the identity of multiple aliases.
As a result of the investigation, Saldana-Ochoa was arrested for three counts of Criminal Damage and Driving under the Influence to the Slightest Degree. During his initial appearance, Saldana-Ochoa was held on a $10,000.00 cash-only bond, a no-bond Department
of Homeland Security Immigration Detainer, and was transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
