PUBLIC INVITED TO WATER SMART GARDEN DEDICATION & RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
Lake Havasu City invites the public to a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly completed Havasu Water Smart Demonstration Garden, on the corner of Spezzano Way and McCulloch Boulevard, on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day) at 10:00 a.m. The short ceremony includes a proclamation presentation from Mayor Cal Sheehy and a ribbon cutting from the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce.
The garden showcases landscape features such as low water-use plants, decorative rock, water efficient irrigation lines, and signage with a QR code for a virtual stroll through the garden, that links to the City’s website for details of each plant.
A vision of the Supervisor Excellence Academy, Class of 2024, this garden serves to inspire responsible and sustainable water use. “Through collaboration with experts, residents, local businesses, and commercial developers, the class hopes to kickstart a culture of water-smart landscaping, benefiting both individuals and the environment,” says Jerri Bracamonte, Class Project Manager.
Special thanks to our local businesses that stepped into help with supplies, materials, and plants including Keep Havasu Beautiful Committee, Gold Star Engraving, Home Depot, Lowes, Desert Land Group, A Rockyard-Havasu Enterprises, Star Nursery and South Side Signs.
