At approximately 6:28 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 100 block of Cypress Drive. The occupant discovered smoke and fire in the bedroom and evacuated the residence safely with no injury. The first arriving fire company reported fire coming from all doors and windows on one side of the residence. Four engine companies, one truck company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 20 minutes.
Crews remained on the scene an additional two hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations. CERT responded and provided rehab services. The residence suffered fire, smoke and heat damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
