At approximately 10:30pm on Thursday, September 29th, 2022, a fire was reported by neighbors in the 2900 block of Anita Drive. The neighbors discovered heavy flames to the rear of the residence with heavy smoke and notified the occupants. They were safely removed from the occupancy with the assistance of bystanders along with eight dogs. The first arriving fire company reported defensive fire conditions to two adjacent mobile homes with heavy smoke and fire. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in approximately 45 minutes. There were no occupants in one of the mobile homes and the occupants of the other mobile home were safely removed prior to the arrival of fire units. There was one reported minor injury to a firefighter. Several members of LHCFD CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Desert Hills Fire Department moved up to Lake Havasu City to assist with other 911 calls during the incident. Crews remained on the scene throughout the evening conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
