Over the past six months, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into two subjects selling large amounts of methamphetamine throughout Lake Havasu City.
On September 6, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team and the Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant in the 2900 block of War Eagle Drive. As the SWAT team arrived on scene, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed leaving the residence. Leonard R. Contreras, the driver and Felicia M. Knepp were contacted in the vehicle and taken into custody on drug related charges. During a search of the vehicle over 100 grams of methamphetamine were located along with items of drug paraphernalia and a counterfeit $100 bill. During a search of the residence two additional subjects, identified as Matthew G. Rea and Glenora R. Corrao were located along with small amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, the following subjects were arrested:
Leonard R. Contreras, 55 years old, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, forgery, driving with a suspended license and a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant.
Felicia M. Knepp, 45 years old, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Matthew G. Rea, 34 years old, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Glenora R. Corrao, 55 years old, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All of the subjects are Lake Havasu City residents. During their initial appearances, all subjects were held without bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
