SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR SELLING METHAMPHETAMINE

Over the past several months, detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) have been conducting an investigation into a subject selling methamphetamine at a business in the 2600 block of North Kiowa Boulevard where he was employed and also from his residence. 

On December 12, at approximately 8:15 p.m., 31-year-old Chad A. Van Allen, a Lake Havasu City resident, was arrested in the 2600 block of North Kiowa Boulevard and found in possession of approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin and a small amount of cannabis. 

On December 12, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s SWAT team and the Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant at Van Allen’s residence in the 1100 block of Catalina Drive.   During the search, a couple of additional grams of methamphetamine were located along with two firearms, seven ounces of cannabis and numerous items of drug paraphernalia associated with drug use and drug sales. 

As a result of the investigation, Chad A. Van Allen was charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Jacqueline Cazares, a 22-year-old Lake Havasu City resident was also arrested and charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after she was located at the residence.

During his initial appearance, Van Allen was held on a $35,000 cash-only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.  

During her initial appearances, Jacqueline Cazares was held on a $15,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
