SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING AT VEHICLE ON N. ACOMA BLVD.
On August 16, 2020 at approximately 3:55 p.m. Lake Havasu City Police Officers responded to the 200 block of S. Lake Havasu Ave for a delayed report of a shooting. During the investigation it was discovered that the incident took place in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of N. Acoma Blvd earlier in the day. Officers observed damage to the rear of the victim’s vehicle consistent with being shot.
An adult male subject, identified as 52-year old Lake Havasu City resident Danny Joseph Jones allegedly got into a verbal argument with two females in the driveway at a residence in the 100 block of N. Acoma Blvd. Jones retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle and fired one round at the rear of the victim’s vehicle as the two females were sitting inside of the vehicle in the driveway. Jones then left the residence in a 2008 white Ford F250.
Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit responded to conduct the investigation. On August 17, 2020 at approximately 4:00 p.m. Parker Police Officers located Jones on foot near a business in Parker. Jones was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the Lake Havasu City Police Department where he was booked.
Danny J. Jones was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment and disorderly conduct with a weapon. During his initial appearance, Jones was held on a $25,000 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
