On March 2, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Lake Havasu City police officers responded to the 1800 block of Swanson Avenue for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had just been stabbed in the chest area by his roommate. Medical personnel responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to the Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he is listed in critical condition.
As officers were assisting the victim, the suspect, 25-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Nicholas Ferrara called the dispatch center to report that he was involved in the incident. Officers responded to the 1800 block of N. McCulloch Boulevard and met with Ferrara. He was taken into custody without further incident. The Lake Havasu City Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene to complete the investigation. A search warrant was served at the stabbing location, and additional items of evidence were seized. The investigation is still ongoing.
As a result of the initial investigation, Nicholas Ferrara was charged with Aggravated Assault per Domestic Violence. During his initial appearance, Ferrara was held on a $5,000.00 cash only bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
