On July 22, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of S.R. 95 and London Bridge Road.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver of a white 1994 Chevy truck was traveling northbound on S.R. 95 and attempted to turn left on London Bridge Road against a red left turn indicator light. A silver 2003 Toyota Corolla traveling southbound collided with the truck.
The male driver of the Chevy truck was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. A front seat female passenger in the truck was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious life threatening injuries. A female driver of the Toyota Corolla suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries and had to be extricated from her vehicle. All of the people involved are Lake Havasu City residents.
Speed and impairment are not considered factors in the collision. The intersection was closed for approximately three hours. The collision remains under investigation and no citations have been issued at this time.
