Two Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Arrests

On October 24, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a civil traffic violation in the 3200 block of Iroquois Drive.  The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 25-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Elysia M. Espinoza was arrested for driving with a suspended license, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after being found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.  During her initial appearance, Espinoza was held on a $10,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

On October 25, 2017, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a civil traffic violation in the 2200 block of Havasupai Boulevard.  The vehicle was occupied by three subjects.  During the course of the traffic stop and investigation, the La Paz County Task Force K-9 was requested.  As a result of the exterior search by the K-9, probable cause was established for a search of the interior of the vehicle.  A usable amount of methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were found.  As a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle Bre Manning and both passengers Brailynne Mendibles and Michael Old were arrested.

Bre Manning, a 42-year-old Lake Havasu City resident was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. During her initial appearance, Manning was held on a $500 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

Brailynne M. Mendibles, a 37-year old Lake Havasu City resident was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and taking the identity of another after being found in possession of a stolen Washington state driver’s license.  During her initial appearance, Mendibles was held on a $500 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. 

Michael B. Old, a 48-year old Lake Havasu City resident was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.   During his initial appearance, Old was held on a $1,000 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
