At approximately 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 300 block of Silverado Dr. The occupants were alerted by the smoke detectors, discovered smoke coming from the closet area of the master bedroom and exited the structure. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke coming from multiple locations of the residence as well as the attic vents.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of some new signage that was recently installed along the easement of a downtown alleyway. Alley 37, which is the alleyway off Swanson Ave. behind Starbucks (52 Lake Havasu Ave.) now has signage prohibiting vehicles from driving southbound from Swanson Ave. This essentially makes it a one-way thoroughfare for northbound traffic on the alleyway, in between Swanson Ave. and Sunflower Dr.

Have you been interested in learning Paddlesport safety basics as well as basic skills of Kayaking or Stand Up Paddleboard? Now is your chance! The Lake Havasu City Parks & Recreation Department is excited to offer 2 sessions of Adult Paddlesport classes in cooperation with the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Session 1 will focus on Kayaking and session 2 will focus on Stand Up Paddleboarding. Each session will consist of one day in class instruction and learning and one day hands on learning at the Bill Williams Wildlife Refuge. Transportation will be provided by the Parks and Recreation Department. Registration is required and limited.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is excited to announce several community workshops and presentations that will take place in the coming months. The purpose of these workshops is to give citizens the opportunity to learn about what police work is like in Lake Havasu City, directly from LHCPD employees. Citizens can get a chance to learn about the department’s use of force policy, patrol procedures, investigative techniques, and various other duties that its employees are entrusted with.

Join Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy and City Manager Jess Knudson for coffee on Friday, September 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and learn about what is happening in the city and get answers to questions you may have about current and future projects. Meeting is held in the Council Chambers at the Police Department located at 2360 McCulloch Blvd North.

On August 29, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Lake Havasu City resident Jarred Brown (28) following a search warrant at a residence within the 2100 block of Edgewood Dr. During the search warrant and subsequent investigation, detectives located approximately 115 Fentanyl pills, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and two counterfeit $100 bills.

City offices are closed on Monday, September 4, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Police and Fire Department services are unaffected, however administrative offices are closed. All City offices will resume normal schedules on Tuesday, September 5. The Aquatic Center and Community Center are closed Monday, September 4. Trash and recycling schedules are not interrupted.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Augus 25, 2023 a fire in an aircraft hangar was reported by a bystander at the Lake Havasu City Airport. The first arriving fire company stationed at the Airport reported smoke coming from a large door on a hangar. After gaining entry, a working fire was visible in the back of the hangar which did have an aircraft inside. The hangar is in an area that has multiple hangars within close proximity. The fire did extend from the original hangar to an adjacent hangar.
