The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to remind the community that the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available for anyone who may be encountering emotional distress. This service is free and confidential to anyone in the United States 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

On January 17, 2023, at approximately 7:02 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist on Lake Havasu Ave. N. at Willow Ave. The investigation revealed that a 2015 Dodge Ram with a single occupant was traveling southbound on Lake Havasu Ave. N., turning onto Willow Ave., when it struck a male on an electric bicycle who was traveling northbound on Lake Havasu Ave.

Registration for Youth Co-Ed 3rd-6th grade recreation basketball begins on Tuesday, January 17th, at 8 a.m. Season will tentatively run from January 30th to March 10th and the cost is $53 per player. This program is offered for 3rd-6th grade boy sand girls who wish to learn the fundamentals of basketball as well as good sportsmanship and how to work as part of a team. Practices will be held 2 evenings per week at one of the LHUSD elementary school gyms. Games will be held either Thursday or Friday nights.

On January 6, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to Havasu Regional Medical Center for a delayed assault report.

On January 6, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Moyo Dr. regarding a weapons offense that occurred near Walmart (5695 N. Highway 95). During the investigation, it was learned that two Lake Havasu City victims were confronted by two male subjects who were occupying a dark colored pickup truck while driving out of the parking lot. The victims were exiting the parking lot when they heard four shots being fired from the direction of the pickup truck. It was found that neither of the victims, nor the vehicle, were struck.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to inform the community that a new illegal drug trend has appeared in the community. The counterfeit drug commonly identified as fentanyl pills, or M30s, is now being manufactured with a non-opioid veterinary tranquilizer called xylazine.

In an effort to continue to maintain our water mains and improve our roadways, The Lake Havasu City Engineering Division announces construction activity on Lake Havasu Ave. from Kiowa Blvd. to Acoma Blvd. Starting January 3, 2023, for water main replacement and pavement reconstruction.
