At approximately 4:55 p.m., on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, a fire was reported in the 1500 block of Dover Ave. An exterior fire was initially reported of multiple RVs on fire, immediately adjacent to a structure and with power lines down. The first arriving fire company confirmed a working, exterior fire with multiple RVs and other items on fire and possible extension into the structure.

Over the past couple of months, the Lake Havasu City Police Department has seen an increase in reports of thefts from vehicles throughout Lake Havasu City. These thefts have primarily occurred at night and are believed to involve vehicles left unlocked while parked in residential areas.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is asking the public for assistance in a weapons misconduct investigation.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to make the community aware of a new drug that has arrived in Arizona. Methamphetamine, which comes in a pill form and resembles “sweet-tart” candy, has become the latest trend among drug traffickers.

On September 20, 2022, at approximately 7:17 p.m., detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, arrested Lake Havasu City residents Jeremiah Nichols (34) and Michael Old (54) during a traffic stop in the area of Neptune Dr. and N. Palo Verde Blvd. in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. During the traffic stop, a search was conducted, and detectives located approximately 400 fentanyl pills, drug paraphernalia, and two large fixed-blade knives.

At approximately 5:30pm on Monday, September, 19, 2022, a 60-year old female hiker was reported lost and out of water near the SARA Park Trailhead. The hiker called 911 because she was unable to find her way back to the trailhead and out of water for approximately an hour. The high temperature of the day was approximately 102 degrees. Three Engines Companies, a Battalion Chief, and two rescue vehicles responded. The hiker was located on the trail twenty six minutes after emergency crews arrived. Crews deployed a drone to assist with the search.

At approximately 9:00 pm on Friday, September 16th, 2022, a large fire involving multiple manufactured homes was reported by homeowners on the 2500 block of Honeybear Drive with additional homes on the 2500 block of Anita Drive also involved. The reporting parties could see a large amount of flames coming from several homes in the area. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with flames and smoke visible from several homes on Honeybear extending into homes on Anita Drive. Five Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded and gained control of the multiple fires in three hours. The occupants evacuated all of the houses safely. There were no reported injuries to the occupants or firefighters. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional seven hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations. Two homes on Honeybear were a complete loss with an additional home on Honeybear having minor heat and flame damage. One home on Anita Drive sustained moderate fire damage. There were also several vehicles and outbuildings destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The 2022 National Child Passenger Safety Week campaign will be conducted from September 18, 2022, through September 24, 2022. The focus of this safety campaign is to raise awareness and urge all parents and caregivers to ensure their child passenger is riding in the appropriate car seat based on the child’s age and size.
