Republic Services provides refuse and recycling services in Lake Havasu City.


DAYS AND HOURS OF COLLECTION

Please refer to map below to find your day of trash pickup. Hours of collection are 5am-6pm

Please place your trash and recycling out the night before your collection day. Our collectors start at 5:00 A.M. and we are not responsible for the collection of items not placed at the curb after that time.


HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Trash and recycling are collected on all holidays except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's day. Your trash and recycling will be collected one day later after each of these holidays. For example, if the holiday falls on Thursday and your trash day is Thursday, your trash and recycling will be collected on Friday and Friday's trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday.

WASTE TYPES AND INSTRUCTIONS

DISPOSABLE MATERIALS

  • GLASS - BROWN , GREEN & CLEAR
    Rinse out. Remove corks. Labels do not need to be removed.
    *DO NOT INCLUDE (Ceramics, win­dow plate glass, light bulbs, and mirrors)
  • CANS - BIMETAL CANS & ALUMINUM CANS
    *DO NOT INCLUDE (Scrap metal, spray cans, aluminum foil)
  • PLASTIC - PLASTIC BOTTLES: All numbers 1 through 6 clear and colored plastic. Refer to number on the bottom of the container. Rinse plastic containers.
    *DO NOT INCLUDE (Food wrap, foam containers, plastic grocery bags, disposable diap ers, mo tor oil container, etc.)
  • PAPER - NEWSPAPER , MAGAZINES, PLAIN PAPER , PAPER BAGS, JUNK MAIL, & TELEPHONE BOOKS: Place loose in blue box. Do not place in bags or tie.
  • PAPERBOARD - CEREAL BOXES (remove liner), SHOE BOXES, GIFT BOXES, COOKIE BOXES, CRACKER BOXES, TISSUE BOXES, BEVERAGE BOXES (6, 12, 18,24,30 pack), etc. Please flatten.
    *DO NOT INCLUDE (Ice cream boxes, milk cartons, corrugated cardboard,
    waxed or containers from the refrigerated food section)
  • CARDBOARD - Cardboard boxes can be placed in the green recycle bins at the City Hall Parking lot or at our offices at 2011 College Dr.
  • MOTOR OIL - No more than two gallons per household per week will be collected. Oil must be presented in clear, clean, one gallon containers only, with a fully taped and secured lid.
    *DO NOT INCLUDE (Motor oil containers)

LARGE BULK ITEMS

You may call our offices to schedule a curbside collection of large household items such as water heaters, furniture and appliances. This service is offered at no charge (except for tires and Freon certification) up to 6 times per calendar year. Please, no construction debris, tear down items, commercial waste, landscaping, or other items that may otherwise require temporary bin service. For further details, please call (928) 855-9441 .

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

Lake Havasu City no longer offers a single Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. Click HERE for simple steps to dispose of various household hazards all year long.  You no longer need to store these until collection day, just drop them off.

TYPES OF COLLECTION CONTAINERS

Containers should be 33-gallon maximum trash cans with usable handles or trash bags only. Retrofitted drums or other types of containers will not be collected or may be discarded as trash. Cardboard boxes are not suitable trash containers, and should be broken down and placed in bundles not more than 4-feet in length and 2-feet in diameter, and should not exceed 50 pounds.

BAG YOUR TRASH

Please bag your trash. Take special care with styrofoam packaging peanuts, ashes, and plastic grocery bags. Loose or light items will blow out of the garbage can when dumped or on windy days.

TYPES OF WASTE

Place residential trash out only. Construction, demolition, and commercial business materials such as carpet, tile shingles, drywall, and wood will not be collected. Garbage generated by a business run out of your home must be handled in a separate manner. Trash generated from other house­holds will not be collected.

LANDSCAPING MATERIALS

Loose landscaping materials such as grass and leaves should be bagged. Brush or tree limbs should be placed in bundles of not more than 4-feet in length and 2-feet in diameter, and should not exceed 50 pounds. Use sturdy rope to tie the bundles to prevent breakage while lifting. For disposal of cactus, please call the office for suggestions.

LANDFILL

Location: 2 miles east off Highway 95 on Chenoweth Dr.

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
Saturday 8am - Noon

RECYCLING

If you wish to participate in the Recycling Program, please call our office at 855-9441, and we will have a blue recycling bin delivered to your home on your next regular service day. All recyclable items are to be placed in the blue recycling bin and they will be sorted by the driver at the curbside. Recyclable items and your trash will be picked up by separate trucks between 5:00 am and 6:00 pm on your regular service day, so please make sure your blue recycling bin is out the night before.
