On October 19, 2024, at around 9:40 p.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of McCulloch Boulevard North. Upon arrival, officers determined that the driver, the only person in a 2015 Jeep Renegade, was heading west on McCulloch Boulevard North when he noticed pedestrians crossing the street at the crosswalk. The driver swerved to the left, causing the vehicle to leave the road, crash through a metal railing along the sidewalk, and collide with a wooden awning pillar, resulting in significant damage.

On September 30, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident in the 3500 block of Kiowa Blvd North. Upon arrival, officers determined that the driver, who was the sole occupant of a 2003 Suzuki SL7 SUV, had been ejected and sustained fatal injuries. The department's Crash Team was activated and took over the investigation.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded two grants totaling $43,319.00 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) to increase traffic enforcement operations and provide officers with additional equipment for enhanced traffic enforcement, training, and accident investigation. This will be for the 2024-2025 federal fiscal year, from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, a house fire was reported by neighbors in the 700 block of Malibu Circle. The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the side and rear of the residence. Five engine companies, one truck company, one medic unit, and the Battalion Chief responded to the incident and gained control of the fire within one hour. Desert Hills Fire Department moved up to Lake Havasu City to assist with other 911 calls during the incident. The occupants were not home at the time of the incident. There were no reported injuries. Crews remained on the scene for an additional two hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation. LHCFD CERT crews also responded to provide support and rehab duties for working firefighters. 

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 12:50 p.m., officers of the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Beachcomber Boulevard in reference to a shooting that just occurred. Upon the officers' arrival, it was determined that an unauthorized Can-Am off-road vehicle was being driven on the track at the location. As security personnel attempted to flag down the vehicle to remove it from the track, the driver accelerated past the guard, narrowly missing him. The security guard pursued the vehicle on foot and, in an effort to stop it before the police arrived, discharged a handgun at the vehicle's tires as it fled the scene.

Lake Havasu City hereby announces its proposed Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 9.15% for FAA funded contracts/agreements. Lake Havasu City estimates that in meeting the established overall goal of 9.15%, it will obtain 9.15% from RN participation and 0% through RC measures. The proposed goal pertains to federal fiscal years 2025 through 2027. An in person meeting at the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport Terminal, 5600 N. Highway 95, Lake Havasu City, AZ, 86404, including a web conference option, will be held on October 23, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm MST, for the purpose of consulting with stakeholders to obtain information relevant to the goal-setting process. Temporary road closures on Mesquite Avenue are required for Public Works Infrastructure Improvements. To reduce the impact on local businesses and motorists, contractors will work at night to improve the water system. Mesquite Avenue at Riviera Boulevard and Mesquite Avenue from Civic Center Boulevard to Moyo Drive are temporarily closed this Thursday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m., and are scheduled to reopen the following morning on Friday, October 11, at 3:00 a.m.
