Lake Havasu City Police Department detectives continue to investigate the officer-involved shooting incident that occurred in Bullhead City, Arizona, on January 27, 2023. The three Bullhead City Police officers involved in the shooting are identified as Sergeant Raymond Limon, Corporal Michael Santa Rosa, and Detective Carlos Diaz. Sergeant Limon has been a police officer for 24 years and has been employed by the Bullhead City Police Department for 7 years. Corporal Santa Rosa has been a police officer for 5 years and Detective Diaz has been a police officer for 6 years with the Bullhead City Police Department.

Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on January 27, 2023, in Bullhead City, AZ.

On Friday, January 20, 2023, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on SR95 just north of Mulberry Avenue. During the investigation, it was determined that a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by 18-year-old Lake Havasu City resident James Whiting, was traveling north on SR95 when he lost control and left the roadway to the right. Whiting negotiated through landscaping and ultimately struck a speed limit sign, at which time he was ejected from the motorcycle.

On January 21, 2023, at approximately 2:35 a.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Saguaro Drive for a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, a 36-year-old male victim was located in the front of the residence with significant lacerations. Officers began providing immediate medical care and the male victim was ultimately transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The suspect fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival.

At approximately 9:15 pm on Sunday, January, 22, 2023, Lake Havasu Fire Department was dispatched to a desert rescue at Sara Park. A hiker got lost returning from the Sara Park Trail system. Reports stated it had been three hours since the reporting party had last seen the hiker.

At approximately 12:30 am on Wednesday, January, 18, 2023, a fire was reported by the occupant in the 2000 block of Winterhaven Dr. The occupant discovered fire and smoke in rear bedroom and attempted to extinguish it. The occupant was unable to control the fire and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported a working house fire with fire extended to the attic.

Over the past several weeks, Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, which is part of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been investigating a male subject selling suspected fentanyl pills in the Lake Havasu City area.
