The event is held in the Council Chambers located at 92 Acoma Boulevard South.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department recently added another K-9 to assist with drug detection. Through several generous donations, the Lake Havasu City Police Department purchased “Echo,” a two-year-old German Shepherd Narcotics Detection K-9. Echo and his handler have recently returned from a four-week training where Echo was certified in the detection of several illegal drugs to include Fentanyl.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, a fire was reported by neighbors in the 2900 block of Daytona Avenue. Neighbors discovered a fire in the detached garage and attempted to extinguish it with water hoses. The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames coming from the garage door. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 15 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional hour conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Lake Havasu City is proud to welcome Gabrielle “Gabby” Vera as its new Parks and Recreation Director. With 15 years of experience in parks and recreation, Vera brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of success. She previously served as the Regional Park Superintendent for Maricopa County, where she oversaw the development and management of numerous regional parks as well as innovative programs that enhanced community engagement and outdoor recreation.

In total, the Lake Havasu City Police Department received 1,014 calls for service and made a total of 57 arrests, 28 of which were booked into the LHCPD jail, 29 were cited and released, and six were juveniles who were referred and released. Three of these arrests were felony in nature.

Lake Havasu City is thrilled to announce it received approval from the Arizona Department of Health Services to provide ambulance transport services, effective immediately. In a groundbreaking partnership, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department will collaborate with River Medical as the City's exclusive ambulance provider, ensuring residents and visitors have access to high-quality emergency medical services.

City offices are closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Police and Fire Department services are unaffected, however administrative offices and the Aquatic Center are closed. All City offices resume normal schedules on Friday, July 5. Trash and recycling schedules are not interrupted.

A reminder Lake Havasu City is holding a Primary Election on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, for the purpose of electing three Councilmembers. Voter registration for the Primary Election closes on July 1, 2024, at midnight.
