On May 3, 2024, at approximately 7:05 a.m., Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched to the 2700 Block of Daytona Ave. in reference to an infant not breathing. Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel tended to a 16-week-old infant who had regained consciousness. The infant was taken to the Havasu Regional Medical Center where his injuries were found to be severe and required a life flight to Las Vegas, Nv for further care.

At approximately 2:03 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, a fire was reported by multiple 911 callers in the 100 block of Mulberry Ave. Callers reported smoke and flames coming from a second story window of an apartment building. The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke and flames coming from a second story window and people trapped in a second story adjoining unit. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 20 minutes.

In an effort to preserve our roadways, The Lake Havasu City Public Works Department is chip and fog sealing various streets throughout the City beginning Monday, May 6, 2024, as part of the annual pavement preservation program. Work will last for approximately two weeks. Chip seal will cover approximately 370,000 square yards of road surface. While the fog seal will cover approximately 50,000 square yards. The chip and fog sealing process is an efficient and cost-effective method to prolong the useable service life of pavement.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement during the Cinco de Mayo holiday, Friday, May 3rd, through Sunday, May 5, 2024. Funding for this effort is provided by a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Lake Havasu City is participating in the National Firefighters Foundation’s “Light the Night” Fallen Firefighters campaign, honoring the firefighters that have passed away this year on the job and from job-related illnesses nationwide. In support of this initiative, as dusk turns to night, various City buildings and landmarks will be lit red, including the iconic London Bridge.

At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, a fire was reported by the resident in the 2300 block of Palo Verde Blvd N. The occupant discovered smoke and flames in the kitchen and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported fire coming from the roof of the residence. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 11 minutes.
